iWriteBox.com is not linked to any political group, or party. This project is purely driven by one man’s desire to promote good skills and free speech on the web. Too many journalism oriented sites are purely commercial in nature, seeking that ‘Adsense’ revenue. I think there are a lot of good people being underserved, if you are genuinely interested with becoming a more effective journalist, writer, podcaster, video producer this is what this project is about. While politics is a part of all our lives, free speech and broad discussion are critical parts of any Democracy.
While I am a fan, and admirer of Alex Jones as an independent journalist and social analyst I have no personal connection with Mr Jones, I mention him on the home page as a tribute to his pioneer spirit and courage with building Infowars. My own interest with journalism has been inspired by Infowars, but iWriteBox.com is an independent project, no funding or any connection with Infowars. We need more alternative media projects, I want to help people to communicate effectively on the World Wide Web.
The concept of ‘echo chambers’ is really rather cute. We have had blatant propaganda and one-way traffic streams from the establishment media for decades, since well before the internet emerged! While the politics of iWriteBox.com could be described as being ‘Conservative’, it is more aligned with Libertarianism, and the classic British Liberal philosophies, there is nothing ‘Far Right’ about this educational and information rich platform.
I am planning to present some highly practical, experience based training, and learning materials for people interested with becoming better writers for the web, in building their own media platforms so they can grow as new journalists and present their work directly to the public. The big problem with modern journalism is still bound up with the plutocrats, and billionaire owners of large media platforms dominating. Silicon Valley strives to dominate the media space, offering tempting ‘free accounts’ for young podcasters and writers, but this serves to enable them to control what is published, through imposing their severe ‘terms of service’; if they don’t like what you say, they shut you down. When you own your media platform, you will always have this to publish to and carry on building your reputation, informing your audience. You are much harder to close down when you are a media owner. Podcasting, Blogging, Article writing, Video production and also photography will be discussed and presented as skills.
Watch this space! I am steadily putting materials together, and producing video courses. Because I am one man this takes time and energy, I struggle with depression, and the demands to make a living, just like you do; I am doing my best, I hope to have something started in the new year: 2021.
Much of the education will be free to subscribers, but I will also offer technical and specialist help for modest fee paying members if there is a demand for this. I want to offer a benefit to as many aspiring journalists as possible. You can help by donating, and spreading the word. Together we can fight the monopolists and Silicon Valley far left groups, because we are actively suppressed we have to fight back. If you seek to express your views, and your political speech without being censored, owning your media platform is a fantastic way of achieving this!
Media, and news are critically important to democracy, and free speech. People cannot make informed choices unless they are truly aware of what is going on, and who is telling the truth, and significantly, who is spinning false narratives and biased views. We need good people to work in the media space, we need effective writers, podcasters and bloggers; this is both a publishing platform, and a learning space. That is a simple description of what iWriteBox.com is all about! A platform for publication, and a place of learning and inquiry, most importantly a community of like minded journalists.
In short: NO. While there are elements of putting together WordPress platforms which involve a good knowledge of the Web, you can use many tools and techniques without needing to learn coding. I will be exploring using Elementor as the major design tool, this involves some learning, but does not require coding. I am mostly speaking to web novices, I want to help good communicators transfer their work to the WWW context. I am assuming you are not familiar with the back end of web publishing in these courses; if you are already an accomplished builder, I doubt you are even reading this.
There are plenty of online courses, and WordPress communities, ‘How to’ blogs and the like, however: This is aimed at a special audience, I am not just providing basic how-to information and baby steps, I am offering writers, and aspiring journalists a means to participate more effectively, and powerfully on the Web. I am aware there are a great number of good writers, and potentially brilliant communicators who are held back by their lack of technical and web skills. This is very ‘niche’, I am serving a very special community, it is both my privilege and honor to be able to do this. There is nothing quite like iWriteBox.com out there. Most of the university journalism courses are over 10 years behind the curve, and the private sector is filled with razor gangs of ‘marketers’ who want to fleece you! This is the real item.
I have been working with information technology seriously since 1996. My Web experience dates from the early 2000’s. I am a registered Journalist with the Australian Media & Arts Association. I write quite a lot, and build media; I work towards helping aspiring publishers, along with my own political and science journalism. Yes I have a bachelor degree, just to give you a brief view of my background!
My introductory, and basic skills courses will always be 100% FREE of charge. If you want additional help we can discuss!.
My experience, and knowledge is based on genuine chops, built over nearly 3 decades in the business.
Your work can compete with the major players, you just need to know how to get it out there, and seen by the right people.
